LIVE zoom workshop Tuesday 13th May at 2.30pm BST (UK time) - 9.30am EST
This will be roughly based on this You Tube video - though the colour palette will be different:

This will be a relaxing 1.5 hour long painting session where we will look at wet in wet watercolour techniques in relation to semi abstract watercolour landscapes in more detail. This will include looking at layering wet on dry as well but the emphasis will be on the wet on wet aspect. I will start the session with a short demo and my personal experience of wet in wet and things I think are useful to know. We will then get right into the painting session where we will use sketchbooks/ sketch paper as well as a finished piece if we have time.
No need for a zoom account, you will be emailed a link prior to the session.
Here is a list of materials you will need, a week before the workshop I may update the materials list but it will not vary hugely from the following:
1) Some good quality watercolour paper. I use Arches cold pressed fine grain paper but any medium/ fine textured paper is fine.
A variety of paper/ sketchbooks would be handy. It's ok if you only have loose paper and sometimes this is easier with wet in wet because of drying times!
2) A variety of watercolour brushes.
3) Low tack masking tape.
3) Fine blade/ scalpel
6) Watercolour colours: I am listing the ones I use the most but you can use your own favourite or equivalent colours to the ones below. I may add in some others on the day but will not go too far off this list below.
Paynes Grey, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean blue, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre (Possibly Winsor Violet).
I will also demo some granulating colours I have recently brought and may also bring out my granulating medium but it is not necessary to purchase these for the class unless you are interested in them anyway.
7) A hairdryer.
You can turn on your camera or not whichever works for you. I will be delighted to receive any images of artwork via email after the workshop ends along with any questions you might have. I will also be giving feedback during the workshop to anyone who wants to share their work during the session.
The session will not be recorded. I understand if you need to cancel as other commitments can come up! Please let me know 48 hours before the start time for a full refund. After this I will issue a credit note to anyone who needs to cancel which you can use for a future zoom workshop or pre-recorded workshop.
Maximum 8 people.
